What is Mormon Helping Hands Initiative 2018? Future Kenya Mormon Newsroom stories will cover the actions for this annual event

News Release

The “Mormon Helping Hands” (MHH) designation with yellow vests, helps identify The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint’s role in the activity—to provide service laborers and usually not goods or materials. Successful projects have been conducted throughout Africa, Latin America, Asia, Europe, the Pacific, and the United States.

Coordination, implementation, and evaluation of these projects is accomplished by public affairs committees and approved by the Priesthood leadership. Projects are often partnered with local organizations, and government officials. Whenever possible, local media is invited.

On August 18, 2018, a culmination of Mormon Helping Hands events across the African Continent will be performed in groups consisting of members of the Mormon Church along with invited friends and neighbors in various service projects.

Future Kenyan Mormon Newsroom stories will cover the events specific to Kenya for this annual emphasis on MHH.
