Eldoret District Empowers its Members to Serve as Christ Did

The Eldoret, Sosiani, Langas and Huruma Branches cleaned the grounds and some of the internal walls, doors and floors of the Huruma Hospital on August 4, 2018.

Four branches of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Eldoret came together to serve the community. The Eldoret, Sosiani, Langas and Huruma Branches cleaned the grounds and some of the internal walls, doors and floors of the Huruma Hospital on August 4, 2018.

Mormon Helping Hands is a priesthood-directed Church program to provide community service and disaster relief to those in need. Yellow vests are the recognizable symbol of this function in the Church. This arm of the Church helps to establish the name and reputation of the Church around the community. It also provides priesthood leaders and members of each congregation an opportunity to serve as Jesus Christ served.

Approximately 100 members including many families, from various areas in and around Eldoret met at the Huruma Hospital and with the county furnishing wheelbarrows, tools and latex gloves. The helping hands accomplished a lot of clean-up and the hospital appreciated the cleaner, healthier facility.
