BYU-Pathway Worldwide Officially Launches in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

21 students will pioneer the way with this new program.

PathwayConnect program is now available to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and their close associates who live in Tanzania. PathwayConnect is an official Brigham Young University Idaho’s one-year online program which is at very low cost. It prepares and equips members spiritually and academically with Life Skills, Professional Skills and University skills that can lead them onto a path of higher education and or employment. Students study online as well as gather once a week for spiritual learning with other students to discuss the progress of their assignments, ask questions, and help one another to accomplish the goals before them. After completing this one-year program, students can apply for a certificate, which can lead them to applying for an Associate or Bachelor’s degree, all offered online through BYU-Pathway Worldwide and accredited through BYU-Idaho.

More than 40,000 students in more than 100 countries participate in BYU-Pathway Worlwide programs. Currently 21 students are enrolled in PathwayConnect program in Dar es Salaam with the launch inviting more students to enroll come January 2020. And for language learners, a new program called EnglishConnect will be made available to help non-English speakers get on board and be equipped with language skills that will enable them to pursue further education with confidence.
