Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, accompanied by his wife, Sister Lesa Stevenson, landed in Dar es Salaam on Thursday, February 15, 2024 as part of their nine-day journey to three African countries. His visit was the fourth by an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ since the Church was legally registered in 1992. Elder Stevenson had previously visited Dar es Salaam in February 2018 and spoke then with joyous Tanzanian saints. Prior Apostolic visits were the dedication of Tanzania for the preaching of the restored gospel on 18 November 2003 by Elder Russel M. Nelson. Following that dedicatory prayer, which was done at a hilly point in Oyster Bay Beach, Elder Richard G. Scott of The Quorum of Twelve Apostles made a brief apostolic visit to Dar es salaam in November 2005.
Church Funds Critical Food and Supplies for Flooding Victims in Kinshasa, DR Congo2024-02-29http://news-africa.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/church-funds-critical-food-and-supplies-for-flooding-victims-in-kinshasa--dr-congohttp://news-africa.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/church-funds-critical-food-and-supplies-for-flooding-victims-in-kinshasa--dr-congoKinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo | Thursday, 29 February 2024 |
The Church of Jesus Christ and the NGO Women of Faith, accompanied His Excellency the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo in his policy to relieve the suffering of flooding victims in the eastern part of the City of Kinshasa.
Elder Gary E. Pieper, 2nd Counselor in the Area Presidency, and Francis Kazeh-Anfo, Director of Temporal Affairs in the Area. Elder Stevenson reminded the gathering that even though the employees are led by a Director of Temporal Affairs, their work is not temporal by saying, “All things in the Lord’s Kingdom have a spiritual nature about them. Everything you do has a spiritual nature about it…we are grateful for you. We are proud of you.” He referenced the youth theme for 2024 – “I am a Disciple of Jesus Christ,” and the same focus for the Africa Central Area as stated in the Area Priorities – “I am a Disciple of Jesus Christ.” “I am really grateful that we are finding this focus on Jesus Christ as part of the culture of the Africa Central Area,” said Elder Stevenson.
Building Self Reliance Through the Kinshasa Stake Moroni Project2024-02-28http://news-africa.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/building-self-reliance-the-kinshasa-stake-moroni-projecthttp://news-africa.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/building-self-reliance-the-kinshasa-stake-moroni-projectKinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo | Wednesday, 28 February 2024 |

English Course Certificates Awarded at Institute of Religion in Kinshasa, DR Congo2024-02-26http://news-africa.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/byu-pathway-worldwide-and-englishconnect-certificates-awarded-at-institute-of-religion-in-kinshasa-dr-congohttp://news-africa.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/byu-pathway-worldwide-and-englishconnect-certificates-awarded-at-institute-of-religion-in-kinshasa-dr-congoKinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo | Monday, 26 February 2024 |

Elder Paul B.
