The Kenya Coordinating Council of Public Affairs hosted a press conference to apprise the media of the upcoming visit to Kenya by President Russel M. Nelson on the 16th April 2018. A number of representatives from various media houses among them Nation Media Group, Kenya News agency and Multi- Media University Radio were in attendance. Dr. Evelyn Jepkemei, Director of Public affairs in Kenya invited the media to attend this historic event.

Various video presentations were done touching on basic introduction to the Church,a background on Temples, and church initiatives in Kenya. This was followed by a question and answer session where the media was given a chance to ask questions they had concerning the Church. Ellis Mnyandu, Director of Public Affairs in the Africa South-East area, Elder and Sister Lillywhite, Senior couple Missionaries and Dr. Jepkemei responded to the Media questions.
President Nelson, head of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, assumed office in January 14, 2018. He will be accompanied by his wife Wendy L. Nelson, and Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife Patricia Holland.
It is such a joy and honor for the Saints in Kenya and the East-Africa region to have an opportunity to meet and hear from President Nelson. We eagerly await.
